Dr Kurzweil is one of the world’s leading inventors, thinkers, and futurists. He has been awarded 12 honorary doctorates, been honored by 3 US Presidents and is the recipient of many of the nations highest awards for excellence.

Ray drinks 10 glasses of Alkaline Water per day, and believes it will help him live a long and healthy life. In this short interview he answers a few basic questions about Alkaline Water.

Ray Kurzweil has been called “the restless genius” by the Wall Street Journal and “the ultimate thinking machine” by Forbes magazine, Kurzweil’s ideas on the future have been touted by his many fans, who range from Bill Gates to Bill Clinton. Time magazine writes, “Kurzweil’s eclectic career and propensity of combining science with practical—often humanitarian—applications have inspired comparisons with Thomas Edison”.… Read the rest

During nearly 19 years of clinical practice I have had the opportunity to observe the health effects of drinking different types of water. Most of you would agree that drinking unfiltered tap water could be hazardous to your health because of things like parasites, chlorine, fluoride and dioxins.

Many health fanatics, however, are often surprised to hear me say that drinking distilled water on a regular, daily basis is potentially dangerous.
Paavo Airola wrote about the dangers of distilled water in the 1970’s when it first became a fad with the health food crowd.

Distillation is the process in which water is boiled, evaporated and the vapor condensed. Distilled water is free of dissolved minerals and, because of this, has the special property of being able to actively absorb toxic substances from the body and eliminate them.… Read the rest

There are many measurements of water, but the most important for determining the best water to drink are, the pH, oxidative reduction potential, or energy potential, or electron activity, molecular structure and purity.

Assuming that most waters that humans are drinking are purified, most tap and bottled water is 10 to 20 molecules per water cluster but science has helped us to determine that the best measurements for our drinking water are the pH and purity.

The larger the molecular water cluster, the lower the electron activity. The smaller the molecular water cluster, the higher the electron activity. The reason that there is greater electron activity surrounding the smaller water cluster is because as one decreases the number of water molecules that are clustering, one increases the surface area that can now express its charge.… Read the rest

A lot of people ask me where to start to get healthy. The logical place to start is at the beginning. By keeping things simple and looking at the single cell and its function, it won’t matter if you are talking about high blood pressure, arthritis, diabetes or even cancer, you have to find out why the cells aren’t working the way they are supposed to. By getting to the root of the problem, you don’t treat symptoms, you get to the root cause of what is going on.

Each organ system in the body has groups of cells that like specific environments to thrive in. The cells in these environments have very specific requirements. The cells need adequate water to fuel, metabolize and clean house.… Read the rest

According to scientific studies in recent years, having belly fat and fat around your middle brings about a predisposition to heart and circulatory disease in addition to diabetes and other chronic illnesses. That muffin waist or that ski jump is dangerous to your health. What I am going to tell you now, may surprise you.
Fat gain seems to be triggered by dehydration. When the trigger happens, the body cannot differentiate between thirst and hunger. Tests show that in random  groups who appeared to be hungry, a glass or two of water, when consumed, dissipated hunger pangs in all but one person.
When the body is dehydrated, even a two percent water loss, scientists are saying that it creates fuzzy thinking, short term memory loss, fatigue, lethargy, aches and pains, acidic body terrain, false feelings of hunger, blood sugar issues, blood pressure issues and many other symptoms.… Read the rest

There is increasingly greater scientific evidence that body pH and free radical capacity is one of the greatest indicators of health ever known. It all started in 1935 when Otto Warburg was awarded the Nobel Prize for discovering the lack of oxygen as the cause of most diseases, particularly cancer.
Since then oxygen capacity and its related issues have been at the forefront of some of the most brilliant research to date. One of the major components of the health equation is pH. When diet, lifestyle and drinking habits combine into a net acidic gain, the pH of the tissues and the surrounding fluids will drop, along with the capacity to carry oxygen. Because the blood feeds the tissues and removes the waste and toxins, it tries to remove some of the metabolic acids from the body fluids and tissues.… Read the rest

This is a wonderful time of the year. We get a few days off work, but we run around frantically buying gifts, visiting friends and family, cooking the traditional feast(s) and maybe even eating and drinking more than we normally would.

The weekend is coming and you get a few days rest before its back to work on Monday. This is a time when we start to contemplate our New Year’s Resolution. If your waist-line is a little rounder than it was a week ago, with the New Years feast still around the corner, you are faced with that dreaded four letter word – diet.

But it doesn’t have to be as bad as you think. You can do it a lot smarter this year and ensure the wellness of your family at the same time.… Read the rest

Collagen is the fibrous, structural protein that makes up the white fibers, the collagenous fibers, that make up skin, tendons, bones, cartilage and all of the connective tissues in the body. It is also found dispersed in the gels of the body, to provide stiffening. A good example of that is the vitreous humour of the eye. Collagen is the natural protein that constitutes most of the body’s structural support providing a framework on which to hang itself. It is the primary structure of what we know as connective tissue. It is the fibrous connective tissue that holds our body together and gives it shape.

Collagen gives the different organs their strength and along with elastin, their elastic properties. Twenty-five percent of the dry protein weight of the body is collagen.… Read the rest

Chronic arthritic joints (rheumatoid) and their pains are signals of water deficiency in the affected joint cartilage surfaces. Normally, the cartilage that covers the surface of the bones in joint cavities receives water and nutrients through the bone. In dehydration, the bone marrow takes priority over the cartilage for the water that goes through the bone structure. Under such circumstances, the water requirements of the cartilage have to be satisfied from the vessels that feed the capsule of the joint. The nerve-regulated shunting mechanisms and the increased circulation and swelling of the joint capsule produce the pain.

The local pain is a primary indication that the painful joints are not fully prepared to endure pressure until they are fully hydrated. The arthritis pain also indicates that the pressure-bearing and normally well-lubricated gliding properties of the cartilage contact points are decreased because of lack of sufficient hydration.

In results published in the Jan 2007 issue of the American Journal of Epidemiology, Spanish researchers found that chlorinated water poses health risks by drinking it, swimming in or showering in it, or breathing in the fumes from hot showers, swimming pools, hot tubs and baths.

Researchers studied a total of 1219 men and women with bladder cancer and had them fill out questionnaires about their exposure to chlorinated water from various sources. The results were compared to 1271 men and women as controls who did not have the disease. They also compared the average levels of chlorine and chlorine by-products in the water in the 123 areas where the studied individuals lived. Their findings were quite alarming:

Drinking chlorinated water increased the risk of bladder cancer by 35%.… Read the rest
